Roger Lyle Moretz Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roger Lyle Moretz of Roanoke, Virginia, who passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Raleigh Moretz and Minnie Moretz; his wife Jean H Moretz; his sister Judy Staley; his grandchildren, Dylan and Kendel Martin; and his siblings-in-law, Ronald Hughes and Melvina "Bunny" Obenshain.

He is survived by: his brothers, Dwight, Dan, Billy and Steven Moretz; his daughters, Sherry Childress (Jeff) and Gail Biggs (Michael); his grandchildren, Brendan Dalglish (Jennifer), Kelsey and Austin Martin; his great grandchildren, Carter, Mason, Jacob and Ella Dalglish; and his sister-in-law Cindy Moretz. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Rader Funeral Home (630 Roanoke Rd, Daleville, VA 24083). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
