It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronald Wayne Wimmer of Roanoke, Virginia, who passed away on November 1, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ronald Wayne Wimmer to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Clinton Wimmer and Ila Hazel Brown Wimmer; and his wife Ethel Gertrude "Trudy" Wimmer. He is survived by: his sons, David Wayne Wimmer (Annette) of Springfield, VA and Jeffrey Owen Wimmer (Jennifer) of Leonardtown, MD.; his grandchildren, Allison Taylor Wimmer, Zachary Austin Wimmer (Kristy), Daniel Jeffrey Wimmer, Nathan Tyler Wimmer, Wyatt Nicholas Wimmer and Blake Avery Wimmer; his great grandchild Granger Shay (Zachary); and his brothers, Robert Clinton Wimmer (Janet) of Blue Ridge, VA and Raymond Lee Wimmer (Julia) of Hardy, VA. He is also survived by several other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Oakey's East Chapel (5188 Cloverdale Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
The family has asked that donations be made to either Tunnels to Towers Foundation (t2t.org) or to Bonsack Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
