With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sara Vernon of Roanoke, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 22, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Webb Fronk and Lillian Yelton Fronk; her former husband Harry Neren Lockett; and her siblings, Robert William Fronk and Patricia Ann Skelton.
She is survived by: her spouse Gifford O. Vernon; her daughters, Maria Lockett Carlton of Moneta, VA and Sara "Paige" Lockett Anderton (Craig) of Murrells Inlet, SC.; her grandchildren, Samual Philip Carlton (Courtney), Maria Neren Carlton, Jessica Anderton Maes (Kevin) and Meredith Anderton Wootten (George); her sister-in-law Rosalind Reynolds; and her sibling's children, Patricia S. Moore (Clyde), R. Tayloe Skelton, Julia A. Skelton, Clay E. Skelton (Susie), Corrine N. Lockett (David) and Robert W Fronk (Treva).
