She was predeceased by: her parents, William Sherman and Nancy Edith Goad; and her husband Carl V. Barbour, Jr.. She is survived by: her son Chad; her daughter-in-law Charlene Barbour; her grandsons, Calen Barbour (Ethane), Micheal Barbour and Chad Barbour II; and her brother-in-law William Barbour. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Oakey's Roanoke Chapel (318 Church Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Grove Senior Care in Wilmington, North Carolina, in Shelby's honor.
