She was predeceased by: her parents, Judge William A. Alexander and Elizabeth Bennett Alexander. She is survived by: her husband Roderick Shannon Cook; her daughters, Elizabeth Shannon Cook Jeans (Robert C. Jeans) of Glade Hill and LeeAnn Alexander Cook (Christopher Horn) of Rocky Mount; her granddaughters, Rachel Justine Wiley and Elizabeth Ann Alexander Jeans; her brother Judge William N. Alexander (Sarah Davis Alexander); and her brother-in-law Theodore M. Cook (Sara Cook). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
