We are sad to announce that, on September 7, 2025, at the age of 77, Buford James of Rocky Mount, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Buford is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Buford's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert James, Sr. and Effie Chaney James. He is survived by: his wife Sally Dematrice James; his brothers, Earl James, Wilbert "Jinx" James, Troy James, Winford "Jello" James and Thomas "Bread" James; his son Greg; his daughter-in-law Tracy James; and his siblings, Marie James Sigmon (Coy Sigmon) and Paul James (Shirley James). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
