It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Pardue Carter of Rocky Mount, Virginia, who passed away on February 3, 2026, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Pardue and Nannie Pardue; her husband Bennie Carter; her daughter Vanessa Carter; and her brothers, John L. Pardue, Gilmer Pardue (Betty Jo) and Harold Pardue (Mary).
She is survived by: her son Mike Carter (Chris Anne); her grandchildren, Courtney Dagger (Thomas), Blake Carter (Hilary) and Jenni McClure (Danny); her great grandchildren, Colin Dagger, Abigale McClure, Evelyn McClure, Lila McClure and Parker McClure; and her close friend Coleen Hart. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
