In loving memory of Kay L. Thompson of Rocky Mount, Virginia, who departed this world on April 23, 2025 at the age of 73. Kay leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Roger Thompson; her parents, Otha Wheeler and Evelyn Wheeler; her sister Judy Saul; and her brothers-in-law, William Saul and James Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Kim Thompson (JR Roberts) and Gene Thompson (Nicki); her grandchildren, Allie, Daphne and Avery; and her siblings, Kent Wheeler (Darlene), Otha Lee Wheeler (Becky), Linda Divers (Bobby) and Della Carter. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to either the Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Virginia, which was near and dear to her heart (http://www.bgcswva.org); or to the Sheila S. Strauss Hospice House, where they took such wonderful care of her during her final days (http://www.goodsam.care).
