She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Young and Blanche Young; her husband Claude Meeks; her daughters, Dreama Meeks and Amanda King; and her siblings, Jean Mattox, Polly Conner, Billy and Douglas Young.
She is survived by: her children, Robert (Marian), Gary (Jamie), Tommy and Diane Meeks (Wade); her grandchildren, Dreama Martin (Austin), Cameron Meeks (Rachel), Tara Meeks, Kristi Meeks, Carrie Foster (Bud), Andrew King (Stephanie), Jason King (Megan), Wiley and Kendrick Hodges; her siblings, Irene Shively, Nancy Mullins, Gail Pigg (Arnold), Harry Young (Linda), Walter Young, Richard Young (Marlene) and Gerald Young (Diann); and her siblings-in-law, Merlin Meeks (Ruby) and Sylvia Young. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Gideons International P.O. Box 915, Rocky Mount, VA 24151 or a charity of their choice.
