It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Raymond Whitty Cassidy III of Rocky Mount, Virginia, who passed away on April 17, 2026, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Raymond may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Raymond touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ray W. Cassidy and Alise Blackwell Cassidy; his daughters, Hannah Cassidy of Roanoke and Emily Gonzalez of Rocky Mount, Virginia; his grandchildren, Avery Bannon of Roanoke, Jacob Jamison of Rocky Mount, Virginia and Luna Gonzalez of Rocky Mount, Virginia; and his sisters, Kay Galloway Kneisley of Boiling Springs and Ann Moore of Greenville. He was also cherished by other relatives and friends.
