He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Vaughan and Anna Vaughan; and his siblings, Mary White, Wilmer, Tom, Cecil and Paul.
He is survived by: his wife Fran Cales Vaughan; his children, Tammy, Beth and Samuel Ray II (Lisa); his siblings, Frank and Veda Perdue; his grandchildren, Anna (Tim), Joey (Jules), Trey and Bailey (Zach); and his great grandchildren, Emilee, Kara, Lydia, Alayna, Evalyn, Hudson, Weston and Noelle.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Franklin Heights Church (110 Hilltop Dr, Rocky Mount, VA 24151).
