He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Long and Ollie Sue Daniels Long; his wife Norma Jean Marsh Long; his siblings, Genell Newton, Lillian Long, Elizabeth Hensley, Thelma Neal, Grover Long, Claude Long, Austin Long, Charles Long, Jay Harold Long and Steve Pendleton; and his grandson Justin Stuart Long.
He is survived by: his children, Patricia Smith (Rayvon) of Kernersville, NC, Debbie Long of Tazewell, TN, Katherine Brooks (Dan) of Rose Hill, VA, Bob Long (Darlene) of Rose Hill, VA and Rodney Long (Jo) of Rose Hill, VA; his grandchildren, Jessica Smith, Amanda Jones (Randy), Jonathan Smith, Shawn Renee Vaught, Chasity Al Sallami (Aws), Jason Cottrell (Julie), Travis Cottrell, Amber LaBatt (Tom), Danielle Jett (Ryan), Kaleb Rivers (Sarah), Cody Long (Amy), Elaina Raine Al Sallami, Rachel LaBatt and Brianna LaBatt; his great grandchildren, Alex Smith, Elaina Jett, Kennidy Hurt, Kaylee Moore (Cody), Sydney Seale (Stephen), Nicole Sweet (Gavin), Dalton Long, Clara Cottrell, Brayden Chadwell, Kaitlyn Long, Makayla Long, Ava Long, Addie Long, Tanner Long, Rodney Hugh Long, Ella Long, Gina Martin, Shawn Martin, Alessandra LaBatt and Isaac LaBatt; his great great grandchild Sedona Moore; his siblings, Brenda (Larry) and Don Long (Barb) of Rose Hill, VA; and his sister-in-law Audrey Jean Long.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Arthur's Chapel Holiness Church (1169 Mountain Spgs Rd, Rose Hill, VA 24281).
