He is survived by: his mother Ella Mae Branham Mays; his children, Brittany Mays (Dustin) and Zachary Mays (Tiffany) of Lynchburg, VA.; his siblings, Gail Branham of Thaxton, VA, Retta Mays of Shallotte, NC, William Mays (Teresa) of Lynchburg, VA, Shelia Shouse (Andrew) of Stuart, VA and Whorton "Monk" Mays (Tracy) of Nelson, VA; his grandchildren, Clark Mays, Wren Haase and Parker Mays; his aunt Thelma Branham of Amherst, VA; his partner Stacy Lawhorne; and his partner's son Jeremy Austin of Roseland, VA.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at the Bethel Baptist Church (1880 N Amherst Hwy, Amherst, VA 24521).
