He was predeceased by: his parents, Bayne Leon and Ruby Dale Williams Rutherford; and his daughter Susan Marie Dunford. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Ann Rosenbaum Rutherford of Rural Retreat; his grandchildren, Samantha Allison (Damon) of Wytheville and Timothy Melvin, Jr. of Wytheville; his great grandchildren, Ellianya Dunford and Waylon Allison; and his siblings, Sharon Ann Brown of Independence, Janice (Jay Osbourne) and Rick Rutherford.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Grubb Funeral Home (215 S 6th St, Wytheville, VA 24382).
