Doris leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Doris’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Doris will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: husband: Aubrey P. Witt; parents: Luther Carden and Alva Wooten Carden; daughter: Kaye W. Owens (Carl); granddaughter: Carla O. Blanchard (William); grandson: Chase T. Blanchard; and a host of nieces, nephews and their families.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Heritage Funeral Service (427 Graves Mill Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Fort Hill Memorial Park (5196 Fort Ave, Lynchburg, VA 24502).
