He is survived by: his children, Heather Mays of Monroe, John "Jay" Pool (Dawn) of Monroe and Stephanie Wright (Adam); his grandchildren, Zander Mays, Brianna Mays, John Michael Pool, Jillian Brown, Natalie Pool, Carter Pool, Haleigh Wright and Oland Wright; his sister Georgia Carol Seekford of Gladys; and his close friend Dorothy "Dottie" Turpin of Rustburg.
