She was predeceased by: her parents, Brook Branson Riggleman and Clara Eveline Riggleman (Newhouse); her husband James Owen Burgess; her daughter Konnie Jean Sampsell (Burgess); her grandson Sean Robert Sampsell; and her siblings, Mary "Fleta" Mason, Betty Jean Bean, Orpha Loraine Riggleman, Julian E. Riggleman, Donald B. Riggleman, Armond D. "Sonny" Riggleman, Russell B. Riggleman, Robert A. "Bobby" Riggleman and Delmas R. "Jake" Riggleman.
She is survived by: her sons, Kevin Burgess (Janet) of Amarillo, Kendall Burgess (Theresa) of Arthur, WV and Kenric Burgess (Beverly) of Rustburg, VA; her sister Alice Wimer (Virgil) of Montrose, VA; and her friends, Edna Harman, Shirley Kile and Donna Myers. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Schaeffer Funeral Home (11 N Main St, Petersburg, WV 26847). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
