She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Patrick Leonard Smith and Ethel Maxine Dews. She is survived by: her husband Stephen Parke McCarthy; her brother Robert "Bobby" Smith (Patricia) of Roanoke, VA; her daughter Annyce Maddox (John) of Forest, VA; her grandchildren, Stephen Gunnar Saunders (Casey) of Lynchburg, VA, Karsen and Zack Maddox of Forest, VA.; and her great grandchildren, Mickey, Lyla and Rex Saunders. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
