He is survived by: his son Matthew John Barnes (Michele) of Lynchburg; his siblings, Alban Barnes of Lynchburg, Sandra Tharp (Michael) of Lynchburg, Angela Bowling (Kenneth) of Amherst, Roberta Fielder (Eddie) of Altavista and Vicky Harris of Rustburg; his grandsons, Preston James Barnes and Bennett Matthew Barnes; and his fiancée Lisa Hill of Rustburg.
