She is survived by: her son Jeffrey Smith; her stepchildren, Michael Ayers, Tina Rich and Jocelyn Holcomb; her nieces and nephews, Gary White, Sheila Duiser, Randy White and Robin Winter; and her cousins, Rushia Goodwin and Ella Jane Richard.

“Cleo was more Mom to me than my own mother. Her sense of humor was a continual bubble of joy. She brought happiness to my father and was the one who kept us up on dad's health issues. She would always prepare an awesome dessert when we visited. I still think of her when I make a chocolate eclair as she gave me the recipe and it is also a favorite of my family. I wish the miles that separated us were not so many. Cleo will be missed.”
