It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David Stanley Wheeler of Salem, Virginia, born in Scituate, Massachusetts, who passed away on March 9, 2024, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harold "Ike" Wheeler and Patricia Wheeler Scarsilloni (French); his spouse Carmel Auth Smith; his siblings, Kenneth Wheeler (Tyler), Jackie Cook (Timothy), Terri Fortier (Michael), Mark Wheeler (Elena) and Darlene Scarsilloni; his nephew Luigi Scarsilloni (Leslie); his stepparents, Edward Scarsilloni (Marion) and Sylvia Wheeler; his uncle Aldro French; his stepchildren, Paul Smith (Michelle), William Smith (Kelly) and Olivia Smith (Hayden); his daughters, Mimi and Wanda; and also Poarch Sledd. He was also cherished by the many nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in David's name to Unity of Roanoke Valley or to Angels of Assisi.
