He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Shelton and Virgie Carter Shelton; his former wife Darleen Shelton; and his siblings, Eunice Shinault, Jesse Lawson, Bethel McGlothlin and Maurice Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Shelton; his children, Candice Denise Shelton, Rocky Smith, Dennis O'Brien Shelton (Sherry) and Donna Lynn Stevens; his grandchildren, Joshua Shelton (Leanna), Justin Shelton (Johanna) of Kristi, Jordan Loving (David), Mikey Stevens and Zach Deeley; and his sisters, Shirley Crockett (Roy) and Linda McGhee (Donnie). He is also survived by several stepchildren; step grandchildren; step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
