With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Esther Moore of Salem, Virginia, who passed away on November 8, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lowe Collins and Clara Belle Lyles Collins; her grandparents, Drue, Ella Dye Collins, James and Susie Delp Lyles; her husband Melvin M. Moore; and her siblings, Garland "Speck" Collins, Junior "Schoonie" Collins, Eugene Collins, Roger "Zeke" Collins and Linda Diane Collins Fox.
She is survived by: her children, James Moore (Sharon), Judy Hawks (Rodger), Julia Hodges (Ernie) and Brenda Seib Chastain; her siblings, Louise "Sis" Cannon, Sandra Sullins, Betty Flock, Billy "Vick" Collins (Pat) and Shirley "Lund" Collins (Shawna); her sister-in-law Norma Collins; her grandchildren, Jimmy Moore (Kristy), Gary R. Moore, T. J. Seib (Nita), Stephen Seib and Diana Hodges; and her great grandchildren, Sam Moore, Jennifer Moore, Ryan Moore, Emilee Seib, Sayan Seib, Jayce Hodges and Kaylena Hodges.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel (305 Roanoke Blvd, Salem, VA 24153). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
