He is survived by: his sister Brenda Compton (Sherman); his sisters-in-law, Margaret "Peggy" Chafin and Laura Beth Bird; his children, Linda Bailey (David), Sharon Barton and Byron Barton (Sheree); his grandchildren, Allyson Bailey (Colby), Laura Chalfant (Andrew), Starr Barton (Logyn) and Landin Barton; and his great grandchild Carter Chalfant. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Community Church (1923 E Main St, Salem, VA 24153). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
