We bid farewell to James Curtis DeLung of Salem, Virginia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 23, 2025 at the age of 92. James Curtis touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his mother Georgia Jones Dobbins; his stepfather James W. Dobbins; and his sisters, Martha Strawn, Edna Morse, Molly Hite and Elizabeth Bryson.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Burton DeLung; his son Dwayne DeLung; his grandsons, Zachariah DeLung (Jessica) and Halen Journell (Sarah); his great grandchild Elizabeth Rayne DeLung; and his brother Don Dobbins (Margarette). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Central United Methodist Church (428 S College Ave, Salem, VA 24153). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Hill Cemetery (730 E Main St, Salem, VA 24153).
While flowers are welcome, memorial donations to honor Jimmy may also be made to Central United Methodist Church, Salem, Va.
