With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Kenneth Cowan of Salem, Virginia, who passed away on December 21, 2024 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Cowan and Christina Cowan; and his siblings, Constance Watson, Christina Schott, Shirley Williams, Nathan Cowan, Jr. and Lynta Huff.
He is survived by: his wife Janice L. Cowan; his sisters, Martha Westman, Florence Norris and Mary Don; his children, Carol Rust (Greg), Sherry Harden (Dane) and James Cowan, Jr. (Rachel); and his grandsons, Alex Rust, Sam Rust, Eli Rust, Joshua Harden, James Cowan, III and Robert Cowan.
