We announce the death of James W. McDaniel of Salem, Virginia, who passed away on October 23, 2026, at the age of 81. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rutherford McDaniel and Hettie McDaniel; and his siblings, Gilda (Barbara McDaniel), David, John, Larry and Carl McDaniel.
He is survived by: his daughter Angela Erickson (Lloyd); his grandchildren, Spencer Erickson (Rachel), Christian Erickson (Lauren) and Landon Erickson; his great grandchildren, Rilee Erickson, Sawyer Erickson and Léon Erickson-Brown; and his brother Steve McDaniel (Kathy).
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 29th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Den Hill Cemetery.
