He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Abbott and Margaret Cecelia Abbott; and his brothers, Thomas Connolly, George Connolly and James Abbott.

He is survived by: his children, Vicki Carroll Markey, Dean Thomas Carroll and Sean Thomas Abbott (Angela); his stepchild Missie Degon; his former wife Catherine Carroll; his close friend Deborah Hall; his sister Kay Pizzariella (John); his grandchildren, Heather Carroll (Ethan), Brett Carroll (Kristin), Brendan Carroll (Ariel), William Abbott and Emily Abbott; his great grandchildren, Berkley, Bailey and Bennett Carroll; his nieces and nephews, Kath Burchfield (Rand), Maureen Beasley, Eileen Snyder (JR), Thomas Connolly, Jr. (Olivia), Jean Marie, John (Kristen), Tina Pizzariella, Brendan Brown (Gabrielle), Peter Brown (Megan) and Elizabeth Rohan (John); and his friends, Gabrielle and Randy Gatzke. He is also survived by many great nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
