She was predeceased by: her parents, Buford Akers and Dorothy Akers; her son Richard Clark; her siblings, Buford Akers, Jr., Rudolph Akers, Richard Akers, Peggy Bryant, Linda Weaver and Dot Vass; and her grandson Drew Overstreet.

She is survived by: her daughter Debra Simpson (Charles); her grandchildren, William Wall (Kara), Elizabeth Overstreet (Scott), Mary Wall, Jacob Wall, Hannah Wall, Sam Wall, Madilyn Overstreet and Robbie Overstreet; her siblings, Pee-Wee Grubb and Joel Akers (Shirley); her close friend B. J. Burgess; and her pet Tuffy.
