He was predeceased by: his parents, James Paitsel and Alva Paitsel; his wife Linda Paitsel; his son Kenneth James "Jimmy" Paitsel; and his sisters, Margaret Paitsel, Shirley Paitsel, Ruby St. Clair and Lucille Huffman.

He is survived by: his daughter Lynn Paitsel Young (Scott); his grandchildren, Krystal Paitsel and Kenneth "KJ" Paitsel (Kelly); his great grandchild Kyle James Paitsel; his sisters, Harriet Medley, Oneta Paitsel and Diane Ray; and his sister-in-law Bonnie Jenkins. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
