She is survived by: her children, Teresa Carrow (Joe), James Merritt Jr. and Roy "Ugie" Merritt (Kathy); her grandchildren, Scott, Ashley, Emily, Lily, Casey and Adam; and her close friend Clarence Caywood. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Simpson Funeral Home (5160 Peters Creek Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
