She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Thurman and Pauline Nichols Radford; and her siblings, Carter Radford, Raymond Radford and Joyce Artrip.

She is survived by: her close friend Helen; her spouse Kaye Meldick of Salem; her sons, Chuck Meldick (Betsy) and Joey Meldick (Laura) of Idaho; her grandchildren, Chelsea Pridgen (James), Miranda Castelloe (Zack), Nathan "Taterbug" Meldick of Salem and Patrick Byrum of Charlottesville; her great grandchild Hunter Pridgen; her sister Doris Fulcher of Salem; her sister-in-law Faye Radford of Bonsack; and her daughter-in-law Michelle Basden. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, close friends.
