We are sad to announce that, on August 13, 2025, at the age of 88, Mary Louise Ware Wood of Salem, Virginia, born in Amherst, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Ashton Ware and Mary Margaret Williams Ware; her husband Alfred James Halterman; her son George Allen Halterman; and her siblings, Wade, Irvin, Edward Ware and Lucy Bowen.
She is survived by: her son Roy Thomas Wood, Jr.; her grandson Matthew Allen Halterman; and her sisters, Arlene Campbell, Doris Dalton and Rosa Brunner. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Locust Grove United Methodist Church.
