He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin A. Woods and Harriet Coffey Woods; and his sister Virginia Dodds. He is survived by: his wife Lynn; his daughter Lisa Wade of Salem; his son-in-law Scott; his grandchildren, Logan and Erin; his great grandchild Wendi Mulligan of Cornelius, NC; his son-in-law Patrick; his grandsons, Michael Owen "Mo" and Neylon; his siblings, Dale Woods and Geraldine Poling of Florida; and his brother-in-law Donald Dodds of Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 125 W. Main Street, Salem and Bradley Free Clinic, 1240 3rd Street SW, Roanoke.
