With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Myrtle McCarter (Salem, Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 25, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Harvey McCarter; her parents, Sydney Brookman and Martha Brookman; her siblings, Junior, Jimmy, Howard Brookman and Ethel Roberts; and her daughters, Dawn McCarter and Hope McCarter Cagle.
She is survived by: her brothers, William Brookman (Jenny) and Harold Brookman (Brenda); her children, Vicki Guiliani (Mike Casey) and Tommy Carter (Becky Carter); her grandchildren, Jessica Childress (Terry), T. J. Carter (Keri), Chelsea Keye (Justin), Miranda Beckner (Jeramie), David Guiliani III, Nick McCarter and Aaron McCarter; and her great grandchildren, Caydan, Jaxson, Sawyer Beckner, Eric, Addison McCarter, Olivia, Scarlett Keye, Mason, Waylon Childress, Riley Carter and Twilight Guiliani. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Foundation of America and to Gentiva Hospice and their amazing staff for the compassionate care and support shown during this difficult journey.
