It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Norma Jean Goens of Salem, Virginia, who passed away on September 30, 2022, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Oscar and Anna Ruth Cox Sharpe; her husband Doug Goens, Sr.; and her daughter Elaine Mitchell. She is survived by: her sons, Ray Goens, Jr. (Peggy) and Tony Goens (Melinda); her grandson Trevor Doyle (Janet); her great grandchild Stone Doyle; and her siblings, Phyllis Suthers of Wytheville, Darlene Burcham of Tobaccoville, NC, Joyce Trail of Elliston, Donna Purdue of Salem, Verna Sharpe of Salem, Sandra Wellons (Woody) of Elliston and Lanny Sharpe (Debbie) of Hammond, LA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
