He was predeceased by: his parents, Alec Winstead and Ruby Mae Wilder Winstead; his wife Martha Lee Winstead; his siblings, Katrina Winstead and James Ermon Winstead; and his children, Patricia Diane Winstead and Mark Allen Winstead.

He is survived by: his son Tony Winstead (Cindy); his grandchildren, Kayla Torre (Joshua), Hannah Winstead and Madison Winstead; his great grandchild Joel Thomas Torre; his sister-in-law Lucille Winstead; his foster sister Brenda Brewer Gattis; and his nephew Daniel Reynolds.
