He is survived by: his children, Bryan Underwood, Donnie Underwood (Susan) and Tamara Underwood; his grandchildren, Lauren Underwood, Kallie Underwood and Chris Mathis; and his sisters, Nancy Sanders, Brenda "Sue" McKay, Karen Hylton and Rita Cunningham. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
