She was predeceased by: her parents, Crockett Blankenship and Minnie Stuart Blankenship; her former husband James Riley Edwards; her husband Tindell C. Herndon; her daughter Brenda Sue Burris; and her brothers, Junior Blankenship and Melvin Blankenship.
She is survived by: her children, Betty Jo Dixon, Peggy Ann Hickson, James Robert Edwards and Tina Christie Herndon; and her siblings, Mark Blankenship, Theodore Blankenship, Woody Blankenship and Mary Jane Blankenship Milton. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; as well as several great-great-grandchildren.
