She was predeceased by: her former husband George Gravely; and her father Galen. She is survived by: her husband Martin "Ed" Nelson; her children, Lynn Dickerson (Jim), David Gravely (Ann) and Beth Gravely (Nathan); her siblings, Jerry Bush, Gale Feather (Sam) and Donnie Bush; and her stepdaughters, Susan Lee, Mary Elizabeth Nelson-Jones (Chris) and Nina Nelson. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Simpson Funeral Home (5160 Peters Creek Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Sherwood Memorial Park (1250 E Main St, Salem, VA 24153).
