He is survived by: his sister Thelma Kate Mathena (Don) of Marion; his siblings-in-law, Harold Slemp of Marion and Nancy L. Robinson of Roanoke; his nieces and nephews, Chris Slemp of Chatham, David Slemp of Washington, D. C., Steve Hastings (Pam) of Marion, Bobby Hastings of Knoxville, Susan R. O'Hare (Pete) of Hixson and Janet M. Holcomb; his great-nephew Mark of Rogersville; his niece Amy Slemp-Walker (Toby); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Thomas, Noah, Jacob and Emma of Lindome, Sweden; his nieces, Robin M. Zombro (Tim) of Staunton, Elaine M. Tucker (Joe) of Marion and Janie R. Meggers of Roanoke; his great-nieces, Emilee J. Priestley (Alex) of Wilmington, N. C., Addison and Hannah Tucker of Marion; his great-nephew Tyler J. Zombro (Moriah) of Charlotte, N. C.; his godson Jamie Garst (Sarah); Jackson of Salem, Parker of Salem and Finn of Salem.
