He is survived by: his wife Mildred Smith Surber; his granddaughter Aspen Surber (Sherman Underwood); his great grandchild Underwood of Saltville, VA; his sister Joyce Chapman (Melvin); his siblings-in-law, Merilyn Armstrong (Dave) of Dublin, VA, Don Smith (Judy) of Kingsport, TN, Ed Smith (Girt) of Wading River, NY and Earl Smith (Brenda) of Saltville, VA; and his adoptive children, Lisa, Keith Thomas of Abingdon, VA, Danny Frye and Becky Lowe of Chilhowie, VA..
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM.
