He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Somervell and Lucille Stevenson Somervell; his daughter Lillian Somervell Wilson; and his brothers, David Lee Roy Somervell, William Roger Somervell and Paul Alexander Somervell.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian Jean Stevens Somervell; his sons, James Arthur Somervell (Alice), Jason Roger Somervell (Amy), John Alfred Somervell (Dee Dee), Jacob Paul Somervell (Cyndy) and Fred Logan Somervell; and his siblings, Alexine Burgess and Sidney Allen Somervell. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
