She was predeceased by: her mother Bessie Basket Brown; her husband James Irvin Comer; her grandson Damien Roberts; and her siblings, Doris, Iris and Wayne.

She is survived by: her stepfather Jim Brown (Williams Rufus Adams); her son James Burton Comer (Burt) of Salisbury; her grandson Jonathan Leach (Vanity) of Phoenix, AZ; her great grandchild Hayden Leach of Waco, TX; her daughter-in-law Christine Comer; her cousin Myrtle Ware of Myrtle Beach, SC; and her sisters-in-law, Donna Adam of Virginia and Carol Comer of Virginia.
