He is survived by: his wife Molly Mawyer Carter; his daughter Jennifer Nicole Carter of Scottsville; his grandson Connor Michael Marshall of Buckingham; and his siblings, Barbara C. Moore (Ronald) of Charlottesville, Dabney W. Carter of Charlottesville and William L. Carter (Denise) of Barboursville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
