He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin Shawver Sr. and Letha Mae Craft Shawver; his daughter Toni Shawver Roberts; his siblings-in-law, Clayton Linkous, John Linkous and Pam Linkous; and his parents-in-law, Stella and Otis Linkous.
He is survived by: his wife Ponnie Linkous Shawver; his children, Jeff Shawver (Ann) and Kim Wilbourne (Mike); his grandchildren, Jason Peters, Elliott Peters, Keeley Marshall (Scott), Landon Wilbourne, Austin Wilbourne (Joy), Eric Shawver, Matthew Shawver (Blair), Zachary Roberts (Jamie) and Jacob Roberts; and his sisters-in-law, Priscilla (Mike Patrick), Gina Linkous and Debbie (Eddie Gallimore). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church (674 Alleghany Spring Rd, Shawsville, VA 24162). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
