He was predeceased by: his parents, James M. LaConia and Ruth A. LaConia; his wife Elisabeth Renate Wüstendörfer LaConia; and his siblings, Lela McGregor, Leroy and J. C. LaConia.
He is survived by: his children, Harald LaConia (Helene) of Frankford, Anthony Wayne LaConia (Barbara Bosserman) of Timberville and Elizabeth Ann Dovel (Melissa Wright) of Shenandoah; and his brothers, H. P. LaConia of Sterling Park, VA and J. W. LaConia of Elkton. He is also survived by three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
