He was predeceased by : his father Earl C., Sr.; his son Gregory E. Shifflett; and his siblings, Randolph F. "Punch" Shifflett, Kenneth W. Shifflett and Evelyn Barnes.
He is survived by : his children, Earl C. Shifflett, III, Douglas C. Shifflett, Sandra S. Hooper, Shelby S. Stevens and Janet S. Salotti. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
