She was predeceased by: her parents, Carroll "Layton" Whiteside and Geneva M. Whiteside (Stanley); her brother James "Jimmy" Whiteside (Joyce Dallas Whiteside); her grandmother Nora Stanley; and her cousin Wayne Foltz.
She is survived by: her son Steve Leigh (Kim); her grandchildren, Tyler Leigh (Sabrina), Brittany Leigh Smith (Troy) and James; her sister Rebecca "Becky" Campbell; her nephews, Jonathan Campbell, James "Jimbo" Whiteside (Carla) and Mannie Whiteside (Cassie); her great-niece Cora Lyn; her cousins, Lucille Morris, Janice Robinson and Robbie Robinson; her former husband Donnie Leigh; Jeff, Kevin, Gary and Darren. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lindsey-Kyger Funeral Home (703 Maryland Ave, Shenandoah, VA 22849).
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Cat's Cradle in Harrisonburg.
