He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Birt; his children, Derryck Birt (Robin), Jennifer Wood (Joseph) and Laurel Sousa (Chris); his grandchildren, Camryn, Savannah, Meegan, Easton, Lincoln, Georgia and Nora; and his siblings, Jimmy Birt and Glenda Brown.
